Spring Concert 2026 May 9

Mixed choir Dissonanssi invites you to the spring concert, the Call, the Longing, to hear a diverse set of wistful and musical pieces. The main piece of the concert is Hymn to St. Cecilia by the renowned British composer Benjamin Britten (1913–1976), a hymn dedicated to the patron saint of music, Cecilia. The program also includes multiple choral works ranging from folk songs to pop music. In addition, we hear the premiere of Sateen jälkeinen hiljaisuus by Onni Kallio. The name of the concert reflects the main theme: music calls upon us to stop for a moment, and take in feelings both melancholic and powerful.

Dissonanssi is a mixed choir from Otaniemi consisting mainly of students from Aalto University. The choir is conducted by Nadja Härkonen.
